They even have an “In Glass” model, for pet owners with glass doors that would have ruled out the pet door possibility in the past. It was in fact this idea, installing a pet door directly into a sliding glass door, that inspired S.B. Hale. Jr. to shift his company from Glass contracting to Pet Doors, starting Hale Pet Door® in 1985 to pursue that interest. Of course the products he offered grew from there and so did the company, expanding and becoming more successful over the years. Beyond their products, they continue to take an active interest in the world of pets, offering many helpful tips for pet owners as well as great rewards program for pet rescue efforts.
Obviously, creating these innovations in their field with that level of customization and commitment to quality, required some hands on, user friendly production options, including the ability to easily modify sizes and features in their parts before producing them and the ability to go from design to production as quickly as possible. Also perhaps as importantly, Hale required the ability to produce these parts in a quantity that matched their high demand. They added an Industrial CNC Router to their tool kit, enabling them to work a wide variety of materials such as aluminum, PVC, and HDPE, completely and quickly controlling their output, whether dealing with a one off or a nationwide production run.
